The mission of EES is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate educational programs in environmental engineering sciences, to conduct an internationally recognized environmental research program that will substantially contribute to the benefit of the earth, and to provide authoritative guidance to individuals and organizations charged with preventing and solving local, state, national and global environmental problems. EES serves as a leader in multi-department programs aimed at solving environmental problems and as a major on-campus crucible for conceptualization and solution of environmental problems.
10/10/2009 Congratulations to AWMA Prize Winners
Seven students from the EES department went to the Florida section's
AWMA conference (Oct 4 - 6, 2009). Four of them participated in poster
competition, and three participated in Environmental challenge
competition. All students won prizes in their respective competitions:
Undergrad Poster Competition: Gabriel Maul (1st prize)
Graduate Poster Competition: Shrawan Singh (1st Prize), Danielle Hall
(2nd prize) and Yu Wang (3rd Prize)
Environmental Challenge Competition (EC): Three-member team--Valerie Burkett, Kelly Hodoval and Karamjit Singh--(1st prize)

10/2/2009 Congratulations to Dr. Treavor Boyer, AWWA Award Winner Congratulations to Dr. Treavor Boyer, Assistant Professor in EES for being awarded second place for his doctoral dissertation in the American Water Works Association Academic Achievement Award competition. Dr. Boyer received his Ph.D. in environmental engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the guidance of Professor Philip Singer. His dissertation was titled “Removal of Natural Organic Matter by Anion Exchange: Multiscale Experimentation and Mathematical Modeling”.
