Technical Focus Areas
Air Revitalization – Maintaining vehicle/habitat atmospheric gases,
including the control of pressure and overall composition. Developing fire
detection and suppression systems.
Solid Waste Recovery – Efficacious storage, processing, stabilization
and reuse of waste material from anywhere in the vehicle/habitat including
packaging, human wastes, inedible biomass, and wastes from other subsystems.
Water Recovery – Storing and recycling water at the appropriate purity
for crew consumption. Collecting wastewater from all possible sources and
recovering for reuse.
