    Ph.D. Env. Eng Sciences (2004) - Developing Biological Indiactors for Isolated Forested Wetlands in Florida, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair. Kelly currently holds a joint appointment as Postdoctoral Research Assitsant through the Center for Environmanetal Policy in the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences and Lecturer for the School of Natural Resources and Environment at UF.

  • Matt Cohen
    Ph.D. Env. Eng. Sciences UF (2003) - Spatial analysis of emergy and economic variables and their relationship to soil erosion in the Lake Victoria Basin, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.   Matt is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation at U of F.

  • Glenn Behrend
    M.S. Env. Eng. Science (2002) - Carrying Capacity of the Florida Keys , with Mark Brown as Committee Chair. Glenn is currently with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. 

  • Andres Buenfil
    Ph.D. Env. Eng. Sciences U of F (2002) - Emergy Evaluation of Alternate Water Supplies and Their Treatments in Florida, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.  Andres also completed a paper on "Emergy Evaluation of Water Supplies in Southwest Africa" as a result of a summer fellowship at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis, Laxenburg, Austria. Andres returned to his home in Mexico where he has developed a private consulting business in Ecological Engineering. 

  • Cecilia Ferreyra
    M.S. in CNRE UF (2002) - Emergy Evaluation of Argentina and the Rolling Pampas, Argentina , with Mark Brown as Committee Chair. Cecilia is currently pursuing her Doctorate at the University of Guelph, Ontario. 

  • Charlotte Lagerberg
    Ph.D. Swedish Univ. of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala (2002) - Emergy Evaluation of Swedish Greenhouse Agriculture, with Mark Brown as Committee Co-Chair. Charlotte is currently faculty at Swedish Agricultural University in Southern Sweden.

    MS Env. Eng Sciences UF (2001) - Evaluation Emergy Evaluation of a National Estuarine Research Reserve in Florida , with H.T. Odum and Clay Montague as committee Co-Chairs. Cynthia currently works for the Corps of Engineers in Jacksonville.

  • Tom Abel
    Ph.D. in Anthropology UF (2000) - Ecosystems, sociocultural systems, and ecological economics for understanding development:  the case of ecotourism on the island of Bonaire, N.A. , with H.T. Odum and Mark Brown as committee members aiding with methods. Tom is a faculty member at National Taipei University, Taiwan. 

  • Susan Carstenn
    Ph.D. Env. Eng. Sciences (2000) - Self-organization and successional trajectories of constructed forested wetlands, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair. Susan is currently on the faculty of Hawaii Pacific University.   

  • Sherry Brandt-Williams
    Ph.D. Env. Eng. Sciences (1999) - Evaluation of watershed control of two Central Florida lakes : Newnans Lake and Lake Weir with H.T. Odum as Committee Chair.   Sherry currently works for the St Johns Water Management District in Florida. 

  • B.J. Bukata
    M.S. Env Eng Sciences (1999) -   The development and role of microtopography in constructed forested wetlands on phosphate-mined land , with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.  BJ is currently working for an engineering/environmental consulting firm in Gainesville.

  • Matt Cohen
    M.S. Env. Eng Sciences (1999) - Simulating hierarchical convergence for regional stormwater treatment in low-relief landscapes , with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.  Matt also completed his PhD in our program (2003) and is now faculty in the School of Forest Resources and Conservtion, University of Florida.

  • Kristina Jackson
    M.S. Env. Eng Sciences (1999) - Competition and contributions of pioneer plants in forested wetland succession after phosphate mining, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair. Kristina currently lives in Gainesville and is developing environmental curricula for elementary schools.

  • John Juston
    M.S. Env Eng. Sciences (1999) - Using BASINS to Simulate Nonpoint source runoff in the St. Marks, Florida watershed, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.   John is currently living and working in Sweden. 

  • David Tilley
    Ph.D. Env. Eng. Sciences (1999) - Emergy basis of forest systems, with Mark Brown as Committee Chair.  David is currently a faculty member in the Department of Bilogical Resources Engineering, University of Maryland where he teaches Ecological Engineering.
