Dr. Townsend, Presented at World Bank on Nov 14th 2007.

Dr. Brajesh Dubey, has been offered a faculty position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and has accepted. The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s top university and is widely considered one of the top 50 universities in the world. Dr. Dubey graduated from IIT Kharagpur, India in 1997. Following a 4-year stint in a consulting practice, he joined the University of Florida’s Environmental Engineering Sciences PhD program. Dr. Dubey was heavily involved in many different research projects related to solid and hazardous waste management, his PhD research focus was on treated wood and its environmental impacts. He graduated with his PhD in 2005 and has since continued his work in the Solid Waste research group as a post doctoral fellow. Dr. Dubey demonstrated himself to be one of the Department’s top contributors during his tenure: he was awarded an outstanding international student award in 2004 and to date has published approximately 20 refereed publications. His research contributions on the environmental impacts of treated wood helped shape national policy. Dr. Dubey will begin his position at the University of Auckland in June 2008.
