The text and notes can be bought from University Copy & More, 1620 W University Ave, 372-7436. Call first to make sure the notes are ready. The book “Computer Applications in Hydraulic Engineering, 7th Edition,” should be available at most of the bookstores in Gainesville. However each bookstore buys only a few copies so that they don’t have to worry about storing books until next year. Historically students have had a problem purchasing books in town. The books are also available at:

If you buy the book via the web you may have to prove you are a student by faxing an ID or some other way. If anyone successfully orders a book via the web please let me know what was necessary. I have put the latest ISBN-13 Number on the UF “Course Books” site. If you went to the “book site” for the graduate course numbers you may have noticed that it first stated that “no books are required,” but if you read the note from the teacher it directed you to my site and you should be here.

I received this email from one of our students re the “CAHE” text:

I have ordered the book Computer Applications in Hydraulic Engineering from the website you provided in your syllabus. I wanted to let you know that it is not possible to buy the book through the website due to technical problems they are having, but I called them to the number on their website and they asked me for general information and method of payment and that was all. Price is $46.00 + $7.00 shipping + Florida taxes. They only asked if I was student but did not request any proof.

The email was dated 080818, so the web site may be ok when you go there.

Original notes have been delivered, proofed and ok’d. They will consist of an out of print text in photo-copy form (abbreviated BJP, with all mistakes corrected) and a packet of notes. I suggest calling University Copy & More to make sure they are on the shelf.

The approximate cost of the notes and books for Fall 2008 is:

CAHE 7^th Ed via the web: $46.00 (plus ~$7 for shipping)

Benefield, Judkins & Parr (BJP) 43.71

Class Notes: 25.45 and will increase due to royalties

Total: $122.16

This year the royalties on the BJP Book doubled, which is included above. I don’t have the total for the notes, but they may increase by $5-10.
